It's been a heck of a journey and I am here to tell you all about it. :) How Do I Feel?  How do I feel?...... I feel amazing! It feels so good to be sitting on my bed and writing the words,  "our movie opener is finally done." I have been waiting for this moment since we began to plan! I am not  gonna  sit here and write about how easy it was and how it was a "piece of cake" cause it was NOT!! This was probably one of the most stressful "projects" I have had to do in a while, but overall, It was a fun experience that I will never forget.  I am also so incredibly thankful to have been apart of such an amazing "studio" :) Sarah, Emily, thank you so much for being the best producers/ par...

Spotted: The Use Of Color!

Image
Hey, Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever. Blogger girl is back and ready to get into the details about "mise-en-scéne", one of my favorite things about filming :) before I get started with explaining the color in our film, let's go through the basics first!  What Is "Mise-En-Scéne"? According to Studio Binder, Mise-en-scéne  is the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play. Translated from French, it means "setting the stage" but, in film analysis, the term mise en scene refers to everything in front of the camera, including the set design, lighting, and actors. Mise en scene in film is the overall effect of how it all comes together for the audience.  This website is very reliable because Ms. Woz used to show us a variety of videos that had to due with camera angles, shots, filming, and etc.  "Mise-En-Scéne" Costumes & More  Color is one of ...

Spotted: Representation!

Image
Morning Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever. Today's blog post is all about how STAR represents a coming-of-age movie! Let me give you a little breakdown as to why!  Is It Stereotypical? The answer to this question is yes and no. Sarah, Emily and I obviously wanted to film the movie opener in a way that would let the audience know that it was a coming of age movie. However, we didn't want to to be 100% Stereotypical and wanted to make some changes that way it could spice up the plot and make it more intriguing to the audience.  For example, There aren't a million movies that start out with a rock star teenage girl crying in a dressing room and then flash back to a normal life. However, there are a million of coming of age movies that have a teenage girl or boy waking up and getting ready for school. Some simi...

Evening Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever. This blog is all about Sanstrall Studios and how amazing all our producers are!  aka Emily, Sarah, and me :) Our movie opener would literally not have been possible without such an amazing team! We all worked extremely hard and each pulled our weight for the project!  The project so far has been going great! I will going in more detail down below about what each producer has done so far and how much work we have each put in!  Sanstrall Studios Emily   I don't even know where to began! Emily Wall has been an amazing asset at Sanstrall Studios! She is the reason we even have our movie! From the storyboard to the scripting, Emily has done it all! Although Sarah and I have helped her come up with ideas along the way, it was Emily's talent that got us the STAR Script! She is such an a...

Title Sequence Spotted!

Image
What's Up, Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever. Welcome back to my chaotic Media Studies Project journey:) today's blog post is all about our Title Sequence! Let me just tell you, this part was THANKFULLY one of the easiest ones we had to do! I am going to be going into more detail down below! keep reading to find our the process!  Ready. Set. Action Sarah, Emily, and I wanted to include a lot of information, similar to what our favorite movies did with their credit scenes. We wanted to make sure that credited rolled on the way till the end of 2 minute mark and finished with the TITLE: STAR.  What Did We Use For Reference? Thanks to Emily, she found this format on the StudioBinder website, which listed 17 credits. Although we didn't use all of them, we used most of the them and only omitted a couple that didn't  make sense.  ...

Spotted: Be A Star Poster!

Image
Blogger Girl Here Again, Your One And Only Source Into The Scandalous Lives of Media Studies' Elite. Here again to learn more about our movie? You are in luck because today's blog post is super important! Its all about the most important prop of our movie opener. Our "Be A Star" poster that is the brings everything to a full circle.  - THE OLD JULIET AND THE NEW JULIET!  The normal and suffocated Juliet and the rockstar crying while getting ready for her biggest moment in her life so far, showcasing who she truly is.  Why Is This Important?  This poster was designed by the one and only, me :) I designed this poster on an application called Canva, where I can make just about any form of media poster with the help of templated that they provide. I selected a pre-made "rockband" poster layout that was originally red and black. I began inserting pictures, star shapes and changed the words to "be a star" to tie...

Editing was my job for the project and O BOY, this was the most stressful experience I have ever had in my entire life! You might be thinking im over exaggerating, and I wish I was! I encounter a lot of issues while trying to save the videos to my phone/ laptop and send them to Emily and Sarah!  - All the editing was completed on my 2019 Macbook Air Computer! Thankfully since I filmed everything on my personal camera, my computer already recognized my camera so this helped the process between saving the videos a little easier!  How Did I Edit? For editing, we used the app called iMovie! I mentioned what iMovie is all about in the equipment blog post...

Morning Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever. Today is a special day, its all about Juliet and everything she stands for! I will be doing an updated main character analysis about her physical characteristics, costuming, prop associated with her, her personality, and much more that we saw more clearly after filming all the scenes ask the main character analysis that i did before before prior to any filming!  Physical Characteristics/ Costuming: -In our movie opener, Juliet looks extremely different in the beginning of the film when she is getting ready for her performance than she does in the middle of the movie opener. I will include 2 pictures down below, the first one is Juliet in the beginning and the second one is her getting ready for school.  This is sarah in the beginning of the movie, as you can see, her hair is pink, she has a dramatic makeup look, her mascara is dripping do...
