You Know You Love Juliet's Mom

Morning Upper Media Siders, you know who it is, it's your favorite Media Studies site with more information than ever.



- Today is another special day,  last time we analyzed Juliet. This time, we will be analyzing the one Juliet' s mom. Everything from her physical characteristics, costuming, prop associated with her, to  her personality. 
- Juliet's mom is our supporting character and needs to get her time in the spotlight because there is so much to learn about her! 

Physical Characteristics:

- Juliet's mom is average height and a Hispanic lady with dark hair, just like her daughter. She is extremely kind-hearted and does everything in her power to be there for Juliet. She has warm brown eyes and wears glasses on the daily! 

Costuming:

- Juliet's mom only has one outfit! its her semi-formal work outfit. She is an accountant, and is wearing a very "accountant vibe" outfit that reflects her semi-formal job occupation. We wanted her main color to be brown and have her in other neural-colored clothing to reflect her reliability as a mother but keep her as the side character, we don't want her to shine more than our TRUE STAR of the movie,  Juliet.  The outfit she is wearing is very similar to the one that I listened in my Costuming blog! Down below is another picture that shows her complete outfit! 


  • You can see her outfit a bit more clearly here and see that she is wearing a dress, brown cardigan, heels, and a pearl necklace! 

Props:

  • Juliet's mom carries around a brown purse that matches her color scheme: brown.
  • Another prop of hers is her car, which is grey exterior (once again, a neutral color.) Its the stereotypical mom car, an SUV. which is very helpful as many "coming-of-age" mother figures are stereotypical. 
    • The inside of the car has a red interior which is kind of a reflection of the mother herself because there is so much more to her than just the regular mom "figure". 
    • She is hardworking, dedicated, kind-hearted, and so much more! 

Personality:

  • This supporting character's demeanor is kind/ sweet. Her world is all about Juliet and her accountant job as she needs to work hard since she is a single mother. Being a single mother is extremely hard and she must work twice as hard to be able to provide for Juliet the best she can. She is great at talking with people and keep you entrained by her funny stories and mom jokes ;)
  • She is definitely the stereotypical mother as she does anything for her only daughter and only hobbies include reading and knitting. 

Mentality:

  • Ever since Juliet developed her depression and started acting different, she completely stopped talking to her mom about deep personal things a long time ago. Her mother tries her hardest to get Juliet to open up to her but Juliet reacts the wring way and lashes out on her most of the time. To avoid that, she doesn't pry, but on the inside, she is extremely worried and wants what ver is best for Juliet. Meaning if she wants space, she will give her space. You can see the look of concern when ever she is near Juliet.  For example, when she is sitting at th editing table watching Juliet "eat" her breakfast, her face is blank and you can tell she is scared about her daughter. She knows deep down that something is wring with Juliet and that she suffers from serve- anxiety and depression but she honestly doesn't know what to do.
