Back for more news regarding Aice Media Studies? Well you are in luck!! 

My last blog was all about practicing for the first time a storyboard, and now its time for the REAL DEAL! my group's and I little ideas are now drawn and coming to life! Saying this was easy, would be a big fat lie lol! No one's first draft is perfect but for me, I am just happy that we have taken a big step towards our movie opener. I am sure we didn't include every single detail but for now I am glad that we have this done!

What am I looking at?

Our movie opener is going to show a flash-forward scene which includes our starring character sitting in a dressing room. She begins to cry as she is putting on her makeup for some unknown show that we can hear muffled music playing. Out of nowhere, someone knocks on her designing room, informing her that she will be, "on in fi---", then we are transported to the present. Her mother yell sat her to wake up and she does as the credits start to appear on the screen. Next scene, she starts to get ready for the day, doing simple things such as, brushing her hair and getting her school stuff ready. As she is on the way the kitchen, her mom  is there waiting for her with some pancakes. As most coming of age movies have the breakfast one bite moment, she takes one little bit and is on her way for school. the young teen and her mom make the commute to school and once she arrives, she is in a rush to leave the car and the mom shouting a nice message. As her mother embarrasses her,  she walks away silently. Our leading star is timid and looks down at the floor rather than keep her head up. She stops momentarily as she finds her foot hovering over a poster with an enticing message for anyone wishing to become a rockstar performer. 


You know you love dividing the work: 

Honestly, I love working with my group, not only am I creating a movie opener with some of my good friends, but we are creating something GOOD and EXCITING! We made a lot f jokes through the process but still power through and get our movie opener in order! In terms of splitting up the roles for the storyboarding, I was the one coming up with key aspects of our story. Obviously, Sarah and Emily contributed some creative aspects and we all agreed upon the main them and plot. Sarah took the role of being the main artist for the pictures seen on the physical storyboard. Finally, Sarah took over and added the technical terms and important things that could not be drawn. She made sure everyone who viewed the storyboard knew what they were looking at!! 

Our movie is going to have bright lights, due to the reasons that we are not equipped to create a specific kind of lighting such as three-points and it's going to be quite lighthearted to make sure we capture our coming of age genre. Another challenge that my group and I could faced was aligning the time. Since none of us have experienced filming a short opener, we have no idea how much time each scene is going to take! Other than  that My group and I are more than thrilled to actually film our movie opener and had a great experience storyboarding.
